When the mountains failed to show me sufficient fall foliage I decided to go up to an observatory at the top of a suspension bridge.
Popham is a great place if you want a sandy beach aside the Maine coastline (a rarity!) It was time for an evening of hunting sea shells and frolicking.
I find a trail I have driven by many times and never noticed. It turns out to be a gorgeous river-side local secret.
I allow myself another detour as I find an old abandoned roadway being taken over by nature.
An ill-kept trail aside the road leads me into wetlands and bear country…

Friday was a day to drive out into the middle of the country, play with a bunch of cows, find a random stream, and go hiking into an ill-kept path.
I stopped by a VERY poorly marked trail and was profoundly rewarded by what I found!
Sunday driving brings me into the depths of nowhere where everything is stunning.
